Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Graphite

Our Grain Clad, Graphite wallpaper features vertical timber planks rendered in deep charcoal and graphite tones. The motif highlights expressive organic wood grain, knots, and subtle variations in tonal shading between each panel. We love how the vertical alignment brings height and architectural presence to a wall while maintaining a dark, grounded atmosphere. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical paper structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this dark wood panel design working especially well in spaces where you want to create an intimate, sophisticated backdrop. In a living room, placing it behind a sofa or along a main wall anchors the seating area with striking visual depth. The strong vertical lines also lend themselves naturally to dining rooms and bedrooms, where the graphite palette adds a sense of enclosure and calm without overpowering the room with bright contrast.

In rooms with plenty of natural daylight, the fine line work and undulating grain patterns reveal subtle shifts between charcoal, soft slate, and deep ink tones. For spaces with dimmer ambient lighting or evening lamps, the overall effect becomes richer and more monochromatic, wrapping the room in quiet texture.

Styling it

Because Grain Clad carries strong visual texture through its grain, we recommend pairing it with streamlined furniture to keep the room balanced. Low-profile silhouettes in warm upholstery, such as cognac leather or textured bouclé in warm oat, provide a tactile contrast against the cool graphite surface.

To complement the architectural lines, consider matte black metal accents or brushed bronze fixtures, which sit effortlessly alongside the dark tones. Introducing soft, diffused lighting with floor lamps or low-hanging pendants will cast gentle highlights across the wall, accentuating the vertical rhythm of the planks.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built from a palette of graphite, charcoal, soft slate, and deep near-black tones. When decorating around this wallpaper, we love using soft off-whites, warm stone, or pale greige on adjacent walls to provide a balanced contrast that keeps the room feeling open.

For a moodier, enveloping scheme, you can also draw from muted earthy accents such as olive green, burnt amber, or smoked taupe through larger textiles and decorative pieces.
