Wallpaper - Coastal Scales Blue

Designed by Veronique Charron, our Coastal Scales Blue wallpaper pairs an orderly geometric scallop motif with a rich, tonal blue palette. Deep cobalt arches create a gentle rhythmic repeat over a mid-blue background that features subtle, watercolor-inspired visual variation and a textile-like grain. The clean geometry of the fan-shaped linework provides an uncluttered visual structure, while the layered blue tones soften the graphic presence on the wall. In the room

Because of its balanced, mid-scale geometric repeat, we see this pattern working particularly well in enclosed spaces such as powder rooms, bathrooms, and hallways. In a compact powder room, wrapping all four walls in these rhythmic arches creates an immersive, tailored backdrop that holds interest without overwhelming the room.

The vertical flow of the overlapping arches also lends itself nicely to staircase walls and entryways, where the continuous movement helps connect different levels naturally. In larger spaces, such as a transitional hallway or behind a bathroom vanity, the monochromatic blue palette offers a calm, steady rhythm that handles architectural breaks like doorways and mirrors with ease.

Styling it

To complement the maritime rhythm and deep cobalt tones of the pattern, we would introduce crisp white ceramics and brushed brass or warm bronze hardware. The metallic warmth creates a sharp, intentional contrast against the cool blue linework.

For surrounding furniture and accents, simple painted woodwork in soft chalky neutrals keeps the focus on the wallpaper geometry.
