Wallpaper - Ginko Folly, Liquorice

Our Ginko Folly wallpaper in Liquorice brings a graphic, Art Deco inspired rhythm to interior walls through an interlocking fan pattern of stylised ginkgo leaves. Rendered in deep charcoal black with delicate off-white line work, the botanical motif repeats in scallops reminiscent of classic architectural ironwork or shell motifs. What we particularly like is how the fine interior veining softens the strong geometric structure, creating visual depth without overpowering the room. Like all of our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

The orderly, repeating scale of this design makes it exceptionally versatile across different room layouts. In an entryway, powder room, or hallway, wrapping all four walls creates an immersive, tailored jewel-box feel where the repetitive rhythm brings instant character. In a living room or bedroom, we see this working beautifully on a feature wall behind a sofa or headboard, grounding the space with crisp graphic contrast while letting the surrounding architecture breathe. Because the contrast between black and cream is sharp yet refined, the pattern holds its own across expansive surfaces without feeling chaotic.

Styling it

To complement the geometric elegance of this wallpaper, we suggest balancing the crisp monochrome palette with warm, tactile materials:

• Pair the pattern with warm medium-to-dark wood finishes, such as walnut or stained oak, to soften the black and off-white contrast and introduce natural depth.
• Incorporate subtle brass or brushed gold lighting and hardware to echo the Art Deco influence and add warmth against the deep charcoal tones.
• Choose understated, solid upholstery in neutral linen, bouclé, or rich velvet, allowing the wall pattern to serve as the primary visual focus in the space.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper centres on rich liquorice black and soft, warm off-white. For surrounding surfaces, adjacent walls painted in muted off-white or light stone keep the space open and cohesive. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping atmosphere, pairing the wallpaper with charcoal trim or deep forest green cabinetry creates a sophisticated, tonal interior scheme.
