Wallpaper - Conoid Grain, Raw Umber

Our Conoid Grain, Raw Umber wallpaper captures the graphic flow of natural timber grain, translating organic growth rings and swirling wood knots into an expressive wall-to-wall pattern. Drawn in a muted palette of raw umber, smoky charcoal, and warm taupe grey, the vertical movement of the grain gives the surface depth without overwhelming the eye. It is an ideal way to bring an architectural, panelled aesthetic into a space while keeping the overall feel understated and refined. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

In an entryway or dining room, we see this design working well across an accent wall to create an inviting, grounded atmosphere. The strong vertical rhythm of the grain naturally draws the eye upward, making it a great match for rooms with standard ceiling heights where you want to accentuate vertical proportions. Because the repeat has a fluid, continuous flow, it also sits comfortably along wider living room walls behind a low-backed sofa or credenza, where the fine linework remains visible above furniture. In a study or home office, the deep umber tones provide a calm, tailored backdrop that feels composed without distracting from everyday work.

Styling it

To let the graphic linework of the pattern lead the room, we would keep surrounding furniture clean-lined and understated. Mid-century modern silhouettes or low-profile contemporary pieces in matte black, brushed steel, or warm bronze work especially well against the muted timber texture. If you are introducing upholstery or curtains, smooth wools, bouclé, or crisp plain weaves in chalky off-whites or charcoal create a balanced contrast against the undulating grain lines.

Colour combinations

The design itself features rich raw umber, deep woodsmoke grey, and subtle cool taupe undertones. When painting surrounding walls or woodwork, we recommend echoing these muted earthy shades with soft stone, warm clay, or deep charcoal for a cohesive, enveloping look. If you prefer a lighter contrast, warm off-whites with a slight beige or mineral undertone will frame the wallpaper cleanly without feeling stark.
