Wallpaper - Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk

Designed by Marta Cortese, our Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk wallpaper pairs tall, gracefully curving blades of grass and delicate seed heads with a deep, dramatic burgundy backdrop. Warm golden wheat and muted straw tones create a rhythmic botanical landscape that rises from the base of the wall, balanced by open space at the top. The illustrated botanical details and rich chromatic contrast bring an atmospheric, grounded presence to any interior. Printed custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is straightforward to hang and easy to tailor to your space.

In the room

We especially like how the vertical movement in this design anchors a room without overwhelming the upper wall area. In a dining room or living room, positioning the wallpaper behind lower-profile seating or a dining table allows the layered grasses and delicate fronds to frame the space naturally. The rich burgundy background provides a sophisticated, cocooning backdrop for evening gatherings, while generous daylight reveals the subtle tonal transitions between the warm ochre, straw, and soft sage-tinted leaves.

Because the botanical forms rise upward and leave a quieter solid tone along the upper portion, it works beautifully on full accent walls as well as across an entire room with standard or higher ceilings. In a quiet bedroom, placing it behind the headboard creates an inviting, enveloping focal point that feels both organic and structured.

Styling it

To complement the rich botanical warmth of Sinuous Ceres, Burgundy Dusk, we recommend balancing the deep background with carefully chosen furniture and materials:

• Pair the warm golden grasses with mid-toned woods, such as walnut or warm oak, to echo the natural, earthy tones without clashing with the dark backdrop.
• Choose upholstered seating and textiles in warm neutrals, oatmeal linen, or deep berry accents to harmonize with the palette while keeping the visual focus on the wall mural.
• Incorporate muted brass or blackened metal hardware and lighting fixtures, which pick up the warm undertones of the botanical elements and provide refined contrast.

Colour combinations

The design itself features a palette of deep burgundy, warm wheat, straw yellow, soft ochre, and gentle muted green-grey within the slender leaves. Around the room, we suggest pairing this wallpaper with rich neutral paint tones on adjacent walls, such as warm plaster, soft taupe, or creamy off-white, to keep the space open and balanced. For a bolder, monochromatic aesthetic, adjacent surfaces and painted trim in matching deep wine or aubergine create a cohesive, dramatic interior.
