Wallpaper - Conoid Grain, Blue Ash

Our Conoid Grain, Blue Ash wallpaper brings a subtle, graphic interpretation of natural timber to your interior. Designed by Wallism Studio, the motif captures the flowing, organic lines of wood grain rendered in soft, dusty blue-grey line work across a pale, warm ash backdrop. The vertical movement and undulating grain contours give the surface a gentle visual rhythm without overwhelming the space. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure, PVC-free, printed on paper with a subtle physical structure, and straightforward to hang.

In the room

We like how the vertical flow of Conoid Grain, Blue Ash adds height and subtle pattern across a wall without feeling heavy. In a bedroom, it works naturally as a calm feature wall behind a bed, offering graphic interest while keeping the surrounding space restful. It is equally at home across all four walls in a study, home office, or hallway, where the continuous linear grain creates a coherent, enveloping backdrop. Because the contrast between the pale background and the blue-toned linework remains soft, the design sits comfortably on larger uninterrupted walls as well as in more compact spaces.

Styling it

The light palette and fluid grain lines make this design adaptable to both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. We would pair it with furniture that has clean, simple profiles to let the organic movement of the grain stand out. Light natural wood pieces, such as blonde birch or ash, echo the timber motif without competing, while matte off-white painted finishes help keep the room feeling bright and open.

To complement the delicate blue tones in the linework, consider bringing in muted blue-grey or slate soft furnishings in wool or linen. If you prefer a bit of contrast, darker charcoal accents or black metal details in lighting fixtures or table frames will ground the soft background and bring out the graphic quality of the pattern.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a pale ash-white ground with soft, muted blue and slate-grey contours running throughout. To build a balanced scheme around it, look to soft surrounding neutrals such as chalky off-white, light warm grey, and gentle taupe for adjacent painted walls and woodwork. Muted denim, steel blue, and navy in textiles or decorative accents will pick up on the linework, while warm parchment or oatmeal tones will highlight the warmth of the pale background.
