Clara Hallencreutz Wallpapers & Wall Murals

Clara Hallencreutz is a Stockholm-based artist whose work is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world. Her collection for Wallism, Heirloom Summer, starts life as original hand-painted murals before being translated into wallpapers, and that origin comes through clearly. The designs have a warmth and quiet imperfection that only comes from working by hand, with botanical motifs that feel like they were gathered from a Nordic garden at the peak of summer.

The character of a hand-painted original

What sets these wallpapers apart is the quality that survives the journey from painting to print. The brushwork, the soft edges, the slight variations in tone — none of that gets ironed out. Wildflower stems, layered botanicals, and the kind of loose floral detail you'd find in a well-loved sketchbook give each design a lived-in feeling that printed pattern rarely achieves on its own. The result is a wall treatment that feels personal rather than decorative in a formal sense.

Rooms where Heirloom Summer feels at home

In a bedroom, the softer floral compositions create a visually restful atmosphere without tipping into overstatement. A living room or dining area can carry one of the larger designs well on a focal wall, giving the space a painterly quality that feels gathered over time rather than put together all at once. Hallways and home offices are also worth considering — the finer details of the wildflower motifs reward a closer look, and both spaces benefit from a little character without needing to go bold.

Pairing with furniture, textiles, and color

The Heirloom Summer wallpapers sit naturally alongside light wood furniture, linen, and wool textiles. Muted, earthy tones elsewhere in the room give the botanical motifs space to read clearly while keeping the overall look grounded. Natural oak, aged brass, and soft terracotta accents can all work well without competing with the designs. A single feature wall is often enough to anchor a room, though in a smaller space with good natural light, carrying the pattern across more walls can deepen the garden-like quality of the collection.
