Wallpaper - Neutral Mist I

Our Neutral Mist I wallpaper by June Erica Vess brings a soft, atmospheric landscape into the home through layered washes of warm beige, taupe, sepia, and muted ochre. What we particularly like about this design is the painterly, watercolor-like character that drifts from denser, earthy charcoal and brown tones at the base into airy, cloud-like mist toward the top. The open, fluid composition creates depth without relying on sharp outlines or rigid repeats, making it a gentle visual backdrop across a wide wall. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, and is designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this design working beautifully on a main living room wall behind a low sofa or grounding a quiet bedroom behind a headboard. Because the visual weight concentrates naturally toward the lower half while the upper section stays open and pale, the wallpaper anchors a room without feeling heavy or crowded. In an open dining space or a dedicated home office, giving the mural wallpaper a wide, uninterrupted wall allows the full gradient of misty washes and soft landscape shapes to unfold naturally. In rooms with ample natural light, the subtle shifts between warm taupe, charcoal, and pale biscuit tones become especially delicate, while softer evening lamplight highlights the warm, enveloping character of the deeper earthy pigments.

Styling it

To complement the painterly, organic quality of the mural, we would keep surrounding furniture grounded in simple forms and tactile materials rather than sharp, high-contrast pieces:

• Pair with warm wood tones, such as natural oak, walnut, or bleached ash, to pick up on the earthy brown and ochre undertones across the base of the design.
• Choose upholstered seating and bed linens in textured neutrals, such as unbleached linen, wool bouclé, or soft oatmeal cotton, allowing the wallpaper to remain the soft artistic focus.
• Incorporate subtle matte accents in black metal or brushed bronze to echo the deeper charcoal washes without overwhelming the quiet atmosphere.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built on an earthy neutral palette of warm taupe, pale beige, soft biscuit, charcoal brown, and touches of muted ochre. When selecting paint colors for adjacent walls, trim, or nearby cabinetry, we recommend pulling from the lighter background tones, such as a creamy off-white, warm greige, or soft stone, to create a seamless, cohesive transition. For a slightly moodier or more defined look in adjoining spaces or built-in shelving, deeper shades drawn from the base of the artwork, such as warm charcoal, dark taupe, or weathered walnut, offer a rich and balanced contrast.
