Wallpaper - Salmon Flies

Our Salmon Flies wallpaper presents an archival scientific illustration featuring six intricately dressed artificial salmon fishing flies arranged in two neat columns against a warm cream backdrop. Each numbered lure showcases delicate feather plumes, patterned quills, fine hackles, and steel hooks rendered with vintage lithographic detail. The composition balances rich earth tones of russet, ochre, and deep brown with vibrant accents of turquoise, scarlet, and pale gold. Along the top, classic serif lettering displays the title, grounded by historic workshop text at the base. Printed to your exact dimensions, our custom wall murals are completely PVC-free and produced on paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this design working naturally in a home office, study, library, or entryway where its vintage illustrative character and ordered layout bring quiet personality to the wall. Because the artwork functions like a classic naturalist print, we like giving it a dedicated feature wall, such as behind a desk or flanking a reading nook, where the fine details of the feathers and hook bindings remain easy to appreciate up close. In smaller spaces like a mudroom or a hallway, the light cream background helps maintain an open feel while adding graphic charm.

Styling it

The heritage quality of this design pairs easily with traditional, rustic, and mid-century interiors. We would combine it with warm wood furniture like aged oak, walnut, or pine to complement the earthy tones in the flies. Matte black metal hardware, bronze lighting fixtures, or leather upholstery echo the sharp lines of the hooks and the classic sporting aesthetic. Keeping large surrounding textiles in solid, unpatterned weaves allows the detailed lithograph styling to remain the focal point of the room.

Color combinations

The wallpaper features a pale cream ground layered with rich brown, ochre, amber, charcoal, and warm rust, balanced by sharp notes of teal, sky blue, and red. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, we suggest warm off-whites, soft biscuit, or muted beige that pick up the vintage paper background. If you prefer deeper contrast, a dark forest green, slate charcoal, or rich tobacco brown on trim or cabinetry pulls out the deeper feathers and hook detailing.
