Wallpaper - Assemblage I

Our Assemblage I wallpaper brings together a mixed-media collage composition created by artist Courtney Prahl. The design features layered fragments of vintage lined notebook paper with cursive script, woven burlap-look textures, torn kraft paper, and hand-painted brushstroke details in muted neutral tones. Subtle patterns, including white stamped marks on brown paper and delicate graphic linework along the edges, create visual depth and a tactile character across the surface. Printed to your custom dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design offers an artistic and collected feel for residential spaces.

In the room

We love seeing this collage design on a main accent wall in a living room, study, or creative home office where its detailed elements can be appreciated up close. Because the composition relies on distinct overlapping shapes and varying textures, giving it a relatively open wall lets the complete balance of paper cutouts and script remain visible. In a bedroom, placing it behind a low headboard creates a textured, serene focal point without overpowering the space. The warm neutral palette allows it to integrate comfortably into both smaller, cozy nooks and larger open-plan living areas.

Styling it

The layered paper and neutral palette pair naturally with relaxed, contemporary, or modern rustic interiors. We suggest styling around the wallpaper with:

• Low-profile furniture in light or warm wood tones, which complements the kraft paper and burlap-look background without competing for attention.
• Soft woven textiles, such as natural linen or ribbed cotton, to echo the visual textures within the artwork.
• Matte black, iron, or muted ceramic decorative accents that pick up the darker ink strokes and graphic markings.

Color combinations

The wallpaper features a grounded palette of warm burlap beige, aged parchment, kraft brown, charcoal, soft white, and weathered gray. When painting adjacent walls or selecting major furniture, consider warm off-white or sandy beige to keep the room light and cohesive. For a slightly more grounded look, deeper charcoal or warm taupe on trim, baseboards, or built-in shelving highlights the darker painted fragments in the composition.
