Wallpaper - Your Orbit

Created by artist Kate Jarvik Birch, our Your Orbit wallpaper mural centers on a glowing full moon gently held in an open hand against a deep, painterly night sky. What we particularly like about this design is the rich contrast between the luminous lunar sphere, with its soft grey-blue craters and pale yellow undertones, and the warm, terracotta and plum brushstrokes shaping the hand. The surrounding background features visible painted texture in deep slate and indigo, giving the entire composition an expressive, celestial character. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, our wall murals are straightforward to hang and make a striking focal point.

In the room

Because of its centered focal point and dramatic scale, we see this design working exceptionally well on a main feature wall where the central motif has plenty of space to breathe. In a bedroom, placing the mural behind the headboard creates an intimate, enveloping atmosphere that naturally anchors the sleeping area. It also makes a memorable impression in a quiet living room, study, or home office on a wide, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full painted composition remains visible. The depth of the dark blue-grey backdrop feels particularly rich under softer evening lighting, while daylight highlights the subtle tonal details within the moon.

Styling it

To let the artwork remain the clear centerpiece, we suggest pairing it with furniture that has clean silhouettes and grounded materials:

• Low-profile furniture in dark wood or matte black helps anchor the room without competing with the height and presence of the hand.
• Warm accents in terracotta, burnt sienna, or brushed bronze echo the painterly highlights on the fingers and wrist, tying the room together naturally.
• Tactile textiles in soft ivory, muted slate, or raw unbleached textures complement the moon's surface and keep the surrounding decor balanced.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built on a foundation of deep indigo, slate grey, luminous lunar ivory, and warm terracotta-red tones. To build a cohesive palette around it, consider bringing in neighboring walls or trim in deep charcoal, midnight blue, or a soft, warm off-white. For furniture upholstery, rugs, and decorative details, earthy rust, dusty rose, and muted denim blue work naturally alongside the verified colors in the artwork.
