Wallpaper - Flutter

Our Flutter wallpaper brings an intimate, photographic perspective into the home, focusing on the curved, fanning pages and aged cloth binding of an open vintage book. Created by Deborah Revell, the design uses a macro viewpoint with soft depth of field, contrasting the delicate golden-yellow paper edges against an airy, muted background. The warm ochre and amber hues of the textured book cover give the composition a quiet, grounded presence while the arching curves introduce graceful movement across the wall. Produced made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, our mural wallpapers are designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in spaces dedicated to quiet focus or relaxed conversation, such as a home office, study, library nook, or a peaceful bedroom. Because the composition relies on large sweeping curves and soft focal transitions, we would give it a wider uninterrupted wall where the full macro scale has room to breathe. Placing this mural wallpaper behind a low desk, a reading chair, or a headboard allows the upper arc of the pages to remain visible while anchoring the room with its warm, tactile character. In rooms with gentle natural daylight, the warm amber and creamy undertones become especially rich without overpowering the surrounding space.

Styling it

To complement the graphic curves and vintage book imagery, we suggest pairing the wallpaper with furniture that has clean, understated lines so the wall remains the focal point.

• Combine the design with warm wood tones, such as honey oak or teak, to echo the golden amber tones in the book binding.
• Introduce textured upholstery in woven linen or boucle in off-white, oatmeal, or soft grey to balance the warmth of the wall mural.
• Add focused warm task lighting, such as a matte black or antique bronze reading lamp, which highlights the soft contrast and photographic detail in the evening.

Color combinations

The artwork features a palette of warm ochre, amber, golden-yellow, and soft off-white, set against cool, muted grey-blue background tones. When decorating the surrounding space, we like pairing this design with neutral wall colors such as warm ivory, soft bone, or pale stone to maintain an airy atmosphere. For millwork, doors, or deeper accent pieces, muted slate grey, warm taupe, or dark charcoal provide a crisp, grounded contrast that brings out the graphic lines of the spine and paper edges.
