Wallpaper - Coastal Palms, French Blue

Our Coastal Palms, French Blue wallpaper brings an airy, coastal rhythm to interior walls through stylized palm trees and floating fronds created by RNM Arts. Rendered in a muted slate-blue tone against a warm cream backdrop, the motif features fine dashed linework and stippled marks that add visual movement across the entire repeat. The balanced scale and gentle contrast give the design an illustrative character that feels relaxed rather than overwhelming. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wallpaper makes it easy to bring a timeless tropical sensibility into modern living spaces.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working beautifully in spaces where you want a calm yet decorative atmosphere. In a bedroom, placing it on the wall behind the headboard creates a soft focal point that anchors the bed without crowding the room visually. The fluid repetition of the palms also suits an entryway or hallway, where the rhythmic pattern adds interest along narrower wall runs. Because the contrast between the muted blue and creamy ground remains gentle, our mural wallpapers can easily cover all four walls in a dining room, home office, or powder room without feeling heavy or visually busy.

Styling it

To complement the relaxed coastal mood of the pattern, we suggest balancing the walls with quiet, well-proportioned furnishings:

• Pair the wallpaper with warm, natural wood finishes such as bleached oak, rattan, or light ash to echo the breezy, organic feel of the palm motifs.
• Choose upholstered seating and bedding in soft, unpatterned neutral fabrics like off-white, oat, or washed chambray so the furniture does not compete with the illustrated linework.
• Introduce understated accents in matte brushed brass, blackened iron, or simple ceramic forms to give the room subtle structural definition.

Color combinations

The design is built around a muted french blue set against a soft, warm cream foundation. When planning adjacent walls, woodwork, or trim, creamy whites and soft bone tones create a natural, seamless transition that keeps the room bright and open. If you prefer to draw out the blue motif, muted slate, pale sky blue, or dusty navy on painted baseboards or built-in shelving offer a sophisticated, tonal connection. For soft furnishings and decor accents, subtle earthy notes like sand, dried terracotta, and soft olive green sit comfortably alongside the palette without clashing.
