Wallpaper - Chimera Animals, Blue

Our Chimera Animals wallpaper brings together a symmetrical, fantasy-inspired world of exotic creatures rendered in dark blue tones over a muted slate blue ground. Two giraffes meet face to face at the heart of the composition, framed by winged tigers, perched parrots, fanning peacock feathers, and soaring birds among lush palm foliage and coiled serpents. The design draws on the timeless elegance of classic toile and historic tapestry motifs while introducing an imaginative, otherworldly character. Made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, this wallpaper creates an intriguing visual narrative across any wall.

In the room

Because of the strong central symmetry and rich detail, we particularly like this design on a main feature wall where the entire motif can unfold without interruption. In a living room or formal dining room, placing the mural behind a sofa, sideboard, or dining table establishes an immediate focal point that anchors the entire space. The balanced composition also brings a sense of order and quiet drama to a study, home library, or bedroom behind the headboard.

In narrower areas such as an entryway, dressing room, or powder room, the intricate line work invites closer viewing. The blue-on-slate palette keeps the detailed wildlife and botanical elements feeling cohesive rather than busy, making it easy to enjoy the pattern even in more compact rooms.

Styling it

To let the detailed tapestry feel stand out, we suggest pairing this wallpaper with furniture that has clean, classic silhouettes. Rich dark wood furniture or warm mid-toned finishes sit naturally against the deep blues, echoing the heritage character of the illustration without competing with its geometry.

For fabrics and accents, choose solid textures rather than competing patterns. Woven linens, velvet upholstery in muted navy or earthy taupe, and brushed brass or antique bronze hardware complement the classic tone of the artwork. Keeping surrounding decor relatively uncluttered allows the intricate animal figures and tropical foliage to remain the main visual story.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built around deep shades of dark blue set against a soft slate blue backdrop, accented with subtle earthy undertones. This tonal palette creates a sophisticated foundation that pairs effortlessly with a variety of surrounding colors.

For adjacent walls and woodwork, muted slate, pale blue-gray, or chalky off-whites create a gentle, continuous transition that highlights the depth of the dark blue lines. If you prefer higher contrast, deep indigo or charcoal trim gives the room a bold, architectural frame. To bring in subtle warmth, introduce accents in warm beige, tan, or muted terracotta through upholstery, cushions, or drapery.
