Wallpaper - Sycamore Tree II

Our Sycamore Tree II wallpaper, created in collaboration with Crimson Cottage, presents a detailed pencil-sketch study of a standalone sycamore tree set against a soft, pale off-white backdrop. Fine graphite shading and delicate hatched line work define the dense canopy, trunk, and ground line, giving the motif a quiet, vintage botanical illustration look. Printed custom-sized to your wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper mural features a subtle physical texture in the paper that complements the visual depth of the drawing.

In the room

Because the solitary tree creates an immediate focal point with generous negative space around it, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an open feature wall in a living room, bedroom, or dining area. In a bedroom, placing the tree centrally behind a low headboard allows the upper canopy to stretch naturally across the wall without feeling crowded. In a quiet reading corner or home office, the restrained monochrome palette provides visual interest without overwhelming surrounding furniture.

Styling it

We recommend letting the clean simplicity of the sketch guide your interior choices. The muted gray and off-white tones pair naturally with warm wood furniture, such as light oak or walnut, which adds warmth alongside the cool graphite shading. Keeping large upholstered pieces in understated woven fabrics like linen or soft cotton lets the tree remain the centerpiece of the room. Minimalist or vintage-inspired brass accents also complement the classic illustration style nicely.

Color combinations

The artwork itself centers on soft graphite grays, charcoal line work, and an off-white background with subtle warm undertones. When painting adjacent walls or selecting room trim, gentle neutrals like warm cream, chalk white, or light greige keep the room cohesive. If you prefer deeper contrast, muted charcoal, slate gray, or earthy olive tones work beautifully on cabinetry or accent decor to mirror the shading in the canopy.
