Wallpaper - Warm Western BW

Captured by Nathan Larson, this black and white wallpaper design focuses on an intimate, close-up moment with a horse turning its head against its neck. What we particularly like is the rich interplay of fine details, from the sweeping strands of the dark mane to the subtle tonal gradients across the coat, set against an airy, soft background. The photographic composition brings an expressive yet grounded visual character to an interior wall. Made to measure for your exact wall dimensions, our wallpapers are printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this design working beautifully as a focal point on an uninterrupted wall in a living room, bedroom, or quiet study. Because the motif relies on a large-scale photographic perspective with strong diagonal lines, giving it a wider wall allows the full dynamic shape of the horse to unfold without feeling crowded. In a bedroom behind a low headboard or along a main living room wall, the monochrome depth creates a calm, contemplative backdrop that draws the eye without overwhelming the room.

Styling it

To complement the monochrome photography, we recommend keeping surrounding furnishings clean-lined and grounded.

• Pair the wall mural with natural wood tones, such as warm oak or deeper walnut, which introduce organic warmth against the crisp grayscale tones.
• Choose understated upholstered furniture in charcoal, soft off-white, or heathered gray to balance the visual weight of the horse's dark coat.
• Keep wall decor minimal on adjacent surfaces so the photographic detail remains the clear center of attention.

Color combinations

The design itself is composed of deep blacks, soft charcoal mid-tones, silver grays, and pale, bright whites in the background. Around it, we suggest working with warm neutral wall paints such as soft off-white, chalky greige, or light stone on adjacent walls to keep the room light and cohesive. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping feel, deep slate or charcoal trim can echo the darkest tones in the mane and frame the mural wallpaper with added structure.
