Wallpaper - Philadelphia Skyline Concrete

Created by artist Michael Tompsett, our Philadelphia Skyline Concrete wallpaper captures the recognizable architectural silhouette of Philadelphia against a weathered, warm concrete-toned backdrop. The graphic silhouette is rendered in deep charcoal gray and black, anchored along the lower portion of the wall with expressive paint splatters and watercolor-like drips that soften into the lighter textured background. We like how the stark architectural lines balance against the organic, distressed plaster and concrete appearance of the field, giving urban wall murals a grounded, artistic character. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it brings a bold architectural presence into modern interiors.

In the room

Because the skyline sits across the lower-to-middle half of the composition with open space above, we especially like this mural wallpaper on an uninterrupted main wall in a living room, home office, or study. Placing it behind a low-profile sofa or a sleek desk allows the full horizontal span of the buildings and the dripping watercolor effects beneath them to remain fully visible. In a room with generous natural daylight, the subtle tonal variations within the concrete-effect background become particularly clear, while softer evening lighting brings out the rich contrast of the dark cityscape.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this design with contemporary or industrial-inspired interior furnishings that echo its clean geometry and urban character.

• Ground the room with low furniture in matte black metal, dark stained wood, or clean-lined charcoal upholstery so the architectural silhouette remains the focal point.
• Balance the cool charcoal tones of the skyline with warm textured fabrics, such as coarse woven throws or natural rugs, to complement the earthy tones in the concrete-look background.
• Keep wall decor on adjacent walls minimal, allowing the graphic presence of the cityscape to define the visual weight of the space.

Color combinations

The design itself centers around deep charcoal gray, black, and warm earthy stone gray. For the surrounding walls and woodwork, we suggest pulling from the lighter background tones with off-white, warm greige, or soft mineral grays. If you want to create a moodier, more enveloping space, pairing the mural with dark slate or deep soot on adjacent trim or built-in shelving creates a seamless, sophisticated transition into the darkest tones of the city silhouette.
