Wallpaper - Quail Eggshell, Sage

Our Quail Eggshell, Sage wallpaper by RNM Arts brings an organic, speckled character to the wall with its scattered ink-like spots and delicate mist of fine splatters. Soft washes and deeper pooled droplets in earthy sage green sit against a warm cream backdrop, creating an open, painterly rhythm across the surface. What we particularly like about this design is how the varied density of the marks gives it visual movement without feeling rigid. Made to measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings a calm, handcrafted feel to modern and traditional spaces alike.

In the room

Because the speckled repeat is non-directional and relatively open, this pattern works beautifully across all four walls in a bedroom or nursery, wrapping the room in a gentle, atmospheric texture. In an entryway or hallway, where walls are often broken up by doors, trim, and coat hooks, the fluid distribution of the spots keeps the surface lively without demanding strict architectural alignment. We also see this working exceptionally well as an accent wall behind a dining table or living room seating area, where the earthy sage tones offer a soft visual grounding that lets nearby wall art and lighting breathe.

Styling it

To complement the artisanal, speckled quality of the design, we suggest leaning into simple furniture silhouettes that do not compete with the fine splatter detail. Light or mid-tone warm woods like white oak or birch pair naturally with the creamy ground, while unvarnished, matte ceramics and rough stoneware on nearby shelving echo the organic, painterly texture of the print. If you are adding textiles, neutral linens or woven wool throws in oat, taupe, or soft moss create a relaxed, grounded atmosphere.

Color combinations

The design itself centers on deep, dusty sage green marks layered over an off-white, warm cream ground. When choosing surrounding wall paint and woodwork, soft off-whites that carry a hint of warmth will create a seamless, harmonious transition. For trim or cabinetry, deeper olive greens and muted forest tones draw out the concentrated pigment in the larger spots, while soft clay, sand, and pale terracotta accents introduce a subtle, earthy contrast.
