Wallpaper - April Gray I

Our April Gray I wallpaper by Mike Schick brings an abstract, modernist balance to the wall through sweeping curves, soft geometric segments, and subtle painted-looking texture. Dominated by a tranquil palette of soft gray, off-white, light greige, and slate, the composition is anchored by a vertical off-center band and delicate, colorful outline accents along the curved borders. The interplay of organic wave shapes and geometric arcs creates a measured visual rhythm that feels architectural yet gentle. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure according to your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

We see this design working especially well across a main living room or bedroom wall, where the large-scale geometric forms have enough space to unfold uninterrupted. Because the composition features distinct vertical and arched divisions, giving it an accent wall behind a low-profile sofa or headboard lets the upper curve and graphic lines remain fully visible. In a dining room or modern home office, the muted gray tones create a calm, focused backdrop without overwhelming the space. In areas with soft daylight, the subtle tonal shifts between the light gray panels and off-white shapes become especially nuanced and clear.

Styling it

To complement the abstract geometry of the wallpaper, we recommend pairing it with clean, low-profile furniture that respects the scale of the artwork. Furniture with soft curves or rounded corners echoes the sweeping arcs within the motif, creating a cohesive visual flow.

When it comes to materials, warm wood tones like natural oak or walnut provide a balanced contrast against the cooler gray planes. We would keep surrounding textiles relatively quiet, opting for solid woven upholstery in neutral tones so the graphic shapes on the wall remain the focal point.

Color combinations

The palette in our design relies on varied neutral tones: soft dove gray, chalky off-white, muted taupe-gray, and deep slate, highlighted by fine accent lines of orange and muted purple.

Around this wallpaper, we suggest keeping adjoining painted walls in an off-white or very pale gray to let the mural wallpaper define the room. For cabinetry, trim, or larger furniture pieces, deeper charcoal or slate gray picks up the darker segments of the pattern and adds grounding depth to the overall scheme.
