Wallpaper - Wild Oats II

Our Wild Oats II wallpaper by Deborah Revell brings a delicate botanical study to life with remarkable clarity and balance. The composition highlights two slender oat stems rising upward across a calm, pale cream background, captured with the fine detail of vintage botanical photography. The deep charcoal and warm sepia tones of the seed heads create a gentle contrast against the soft backdrop, lending the mural wallpaper an airy, understated character. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical texture.

In the room

We love how the open negative space in this design allows a room to breathe. In a bedroom, placing this wall mural behind a low headboard lets the graceful oat stalks stretch naturally toward the ceiling, creating an elegant focal point without overwhelming the space. The vertical lines work especially well on taller walls or in a quiet living room where you want to add visual interest while maintaining an open, tranquil atmosphere. Because the motif is concentrated along delicate lines rather than a dense repeating pattern, it also works wonderfully in dining areas or home offices where clean, uncluttered walls are desired.

Styling it

The minimalist botanical aesthetic of this wallpaper pairs effortlessly with warm, organic interior schemes. We recommend styling around it with understated furniture that shares its light, thoughtful feel:

• Choose light wood furniture such as natural ash, pale oak, or cane detailing to echo the botanical warmth of the design.
• Layer in soft, textural fabrics like unbleached linen or textured wool throws in off-white and oatmeal shades to complement the neutral backdrop.
• Keep wall decor minimal on adjacent surfaces so the delicate silhouette of the grass stems remains the primary visual feature of the room.

Color combinations

The artwork itself is defined by a serene palette of soft cream, warm ecru, deep charcoal, and muted sepia. When choosing paint colors for adjacent walls and trim, we suggest working with warm off-whites, soft bone, or pale stone to create a continuous, harmonious backdrop. For a bit more definition, deeper earth tones such as warm taupe, charcoal gray, or muted olive green on trim, baseboards, or cabinetry create a grounded, intentional look that connects with the rich tones of the seed heads.
