Wallpaper - Purrfect Likeness

Our Purrfect Likeness wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, brings a distinctive painted character to the wall with an expressive ginger tabby cat peering out from within a rustic wooden frame. Painted brushstrokes detail the ginger and white fur, expressive wide eyes, and delicate whiskers, set against a deep dark background that gives the subject striking depth and presence. A muted green border frames the outer composition, adding a classic, grounded touch. Made-to-measure and PVC-free, this design has a subtle structure in the paper that complements its artistic character.

In the room

This mural wallpaper makes an immediate focal point, so we would place it on a wall where the scale of the portrait can be enjoyed without too much disruption. In a living room, hallway, or home office, it creates an engaging feature wall behind a low credenza, desk, or reading chair. Because the subject sits within a dark inner aperture surrounded by rich ochre and warm ginger tones, it holds its own beautifully in spaces with focused task lighting or soft ambient lamps.

Styling it

To let the artwork remain the visual centerpiece, we suggest pairing it with quiet, solid-toned surroundings. Mid-tone woods such as teak or warm oak echo the painted wooden frame within the motif without competing with it. Matte black metal hardware or lighting fixtures connect naturally with the deep dark backdrop behind the cat, while unpatterned upholstery in textured wool or canvas provides a balanced, comfortable setting.

Color combinations

The artwork centers on rich ginger orange, warm ochre, soft cream, and deep charcoal black, all anchored by a gentle forest green border. To build a cohesive room palette around our wallpaper, we would look to warm neutrals, muted moss green, or soft terracotta on adjacent walls and trim. If you prefer higher contrast, a deep charcoal or dark espresso painted accent wall will echo the interior depth of the frame and enhance the cat’s vibrant warm tones.
