Wallpaper - Merry Meows IV

Our Merry Meows IV wallpaper, designed by Laura Marshall, brings a lighthearted holiday story to the wall through charming illustrated details and a soft winter palette. The motif features cozy cats wrapped in scarves alongside wrapped presents, a green-striped stocking, mushrooms, snowflakes, and a decorated Christmas tree, finished with the gentle handwritten quote "winter wishes & mistletoe kisses". With its watercolor-like character and balanced arrangement of seasonal elements, this design adds warmth and festive charm across a soft pastel sage background. Like all our mural wallpapers, each order is made-to-measure according to your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

We see this design working naturally in a nursery, toddler room, children's bedroom, or dedicated playroom where the story-led details can be enjoyed up close. Because the illustrated elements are evenly spaced across the soft sage backdrop, our wallpaper can easily cover a complete room without feeling visually crowded. In a living room or family space, we would place it on a feature wall, such as behind a low sofa or near a reading corner, giving the cats, gifts, and seasonal greenery room to catch the eye while keeping the overall room atmosphere light and welcoming.

Styling it

The delicate watercolor style and cottage-inspired charm pair naturally with relaxed, comfortable interiors. We would combine this wallpaper with warm, lighter woods like pine or natural ash, which balance the earthy greens and muted red tones in the illustrations. For painted furniture or trim, soft off-white or creamy finishes help maintain the gentle, nostalgic feel of the artwork. Keep larger decorative textiles fairly simple, favoring unpatterned woven throws or smooth cotton cushions, so the playful vignettes on the wall remain the central decorative feature of the room.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built around a gentle palette of pastel sage green, accompanied by warm reds, earthy browns, and soft holiday tones. When choosing paint colors for adjacent walls, doors, or window trims, a muted off-white or light warm greige provides a seamless backdrop that lets the green background settle into the room. To draw out the cozier accents in the cats' scarves and wrapped gifts, subtle touches of clay red, dusty rose, or cinnamon on accent pieces work beautifully alongside the design.
