Wallpaper - Lakeside

Our Lakeside wallpaper brings a classic landscape into the home with the painterly character of traditional oil artwork. Created by artist Julia Purinton, the design captures a tranquil lake bordered by mature woodland under a luminous, hazy sky. Deep moss greens and shadowy foliage in the foreground gently give way to pale water reflections and golden-tinted trees in the distance, establishing an atmospheric sense of depth across the wall. As with all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made to measure to fit your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the composition has a clear horizontal horizon balanced by tall trees framing the left side, we like this design on a generous, uninterrupted wall where the full scenic landscape can unfold. In a living room or primary bedroom, placing it behind a low sofa or a headboard allows the upper woodland canopy and luminous sky to remain in clear view. It also works beautifully in a study, library, or lake house dining room, where the darker foreground grounds the space while the distant water creates an open, scenic perspective.

Styling it

The classic, painted quality of this design pairs naturally with traditional, cottage, and English country aesthetics. We would look to warm, aged wood furniture, such as antique cherry, dark walnut, or weathered oak, which echoes the earthy forest floor in the foreground. For textiles, simple woven linens and muted wools in natural oatmeal or warm taupe complement the painterly scenery without competing with its rich foliage. Keeping decorative accents understated lets the wallpaper serve as the main visual focal point of the room.

Color combinations

The palette within the mural wallpaper is rooted in earthy tones, led by deep moss green, forest shadow, golden ochre, and soft water blue, offset by warm cream and pale peach in the sky. To draw out the lighter areas of the painting, consider surrounding walls or trim in warm off-white, antique cream, or soft greige. For a moodier, heritage-inspired feel in a library or dining area, pulling the deep moss green or a muted olive from the foreground trees onto the adjacent moldings and cabinetry creates an enveloping and coherent atmosphere.
