Wallpaper - Sullivan Trail - Screenprint Postcard

Our Sullivan Trail wallpaper captures the quiet charm of early American travel, depicting a scenic country highway winding along a calm riverbank. Created from an authentic vintage print by The Tichnor Brothers, the design features rolling hills layered in olive and forest greens, distant mountain ridges under an open blue sky, and a classic vintage car paused along the roadside. The screenprint-inspired aesthetic lends a gentle, nostalgic character to the landscape. Made to measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our wall murals bring a sense of open air and historic craft to any wall.

In the room

Because this design functions as a continuous scenic landscape, we see it working particularly well on a wider, uninterrupted wall where the full horizon line and winding road can unfold naturally. In a living room or den, placing the wallpaper behind a low-backed sofa allows the rolling hills and tree line to stay in full view. It also feels right at home in a dedicated study or home office, offering a quiet, outdoor vista that adds visual depth behind a desk.

For dining rooms and vacation cabins, the expansive perspective helps smaller or narrower spaces feel more open. The horizontal movement of the river and road guides the eye across the room rather than up and down, making it an effective choice for rooms with standard ceiling heights. While the design is detailed, the soft contrast across the trees and sky ensures the mural wallpapers anchor the room without overpowering daily activity.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this scenic wallpaper with understated, vintage-inspired furnishings that echo its 1930s Americana roots. Simple, warm wood pieces in honey pine, walnut, or stained oak complement the earthy olive tones of the hillside foliage without competing with the illustration.

To keep the room grounded, look to tailored upholstery in neutral canvas, saddle leather, or dark woven wool. Because the print has a distinct graphic character, keeping surrounding decorative accents minimal—such as classic iron lighting fixtures, framed vintage maps, or simple ceramic vessels—allows the wall mural to remain the focal point of the interior.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built around a palette of olive green, moss, muted sky blue, soft cloud white, and earthy roadside tones.

When choosing paint for adjoining walls or woodwork, consider soft off-whites with warm undertones to echo the clouds and road. Muted olive or deep forest green on baseboards and trim creates a handsome, cohesive frame around the scenery. For larger furniture and textiles, rich warm browns, warm tan leather, and deep navy accents harmonize naturally with the landscape's balanced outdoor hues.
