Wallpaper - Couture Lady III Cream

Our Couture Lady III Cream wallpaper, created by Avery Tillmon, brings vintage mid-century fashion illustration into a refined decorative format. A stylish woman in a black strapless dress and heels is seated in profile on a striped bench, holding a cocktail glass with a vivid splash of red. Behind her, layered damask patterning in soft beige and muted gray combines with sketch-like chandelier outlines on a textured cream backdrop. What we particularly like is the balance between bold figurative ink work and quiet neutral ornamentation. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle paper structure.

In the room

Because of the strong central subject and figurative composition, we see this design working best on an accent wall where the illustration can be viewed without heavy visual interruption. In a dressing room, bedroom, or stylish living room, placing the wallpaper behind a low bench, a clean-lined console table, or a low-profile headboard ensures the seated figure and delicate chandelier line work remain visible. In dining rooms, it brings an engaging conversational atmosphere when positioned across a main wall area. The subdued cream and beige base keeps the scale feeling composed rather than overwhelming, allowing the room to retain an airy, balanced feel.

Styling it

To complement the vintage fashion illustration aesthetic, we suggest pairing this wallpaper with furniture that has clean silhouettes and subtle heritage references. Upholstered pieces in solid velvet or bouclé let the pattern carry the visual focus without clashing against the background damask. Accents in polished brass, warm gold, or black lacquer echo the delicate chandelier sketches and the rich black dress of the illustration. If introducing timber, darker wood tones such as walnut or ebonized oak ground the composition effectively alongside the lighter cream backdrop.

Color combinations

The core palette of our wallpaper rests on warm cream, soft beige, and faded gray damask tones, punctuated by deep black and a small accent of crimson red in the glass. For surrounding painted walls and woodwork, we recommend muted neutrals such as warm alabaster, soft linen, or light greige to maintain a seamless transition. For a bolder, more dramatic mood, framing the wallpapered wall with deep charcoal, warm black, or espresso trim draws out the strong ink lines of the dress and bench stripes.
