Wallpaper - Song of Spring I

Created by Julia Purinton, our Song of Spring I wallpaper captures a charming botanical scene featuring two songbirds perched among flowering branches. The design is painted with visible, expressive brushwork, showing soft white and blush blossoms with delicate dark centers alongside leafy green foliage on a warm, muted beige-cream ground. The birds, detailed with slate-blue backs, bright yellow throats, and dark head markings, bring an uplifting focal point to the composition. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, this design brings a serene, nature-inspired feel to your interior.

In the room

We love seeing this design on an accent wall where its vertical branch structure and painterly bird illustrations can be appreciated up close. In a bedroom, placing it behind a headboard creates an inviting, restful backdrop that anchors the entire room. It also works beautifully in an entryway or dining room, where the gentle contrast between the yellow plumage and pale blossoms adds warmth without overwhelming the surrounding space. Because the artwork centers around a gracefully climbing bough, we recommend giving it an uninterrupted wall section so the delicate details of the petals and leaves remain clearly visible.

Styling it

To complement the classic, natural feel of this botanical illustration, we suggest pairing it with warm-toned wooden furniture and understated textiles.

• Choose furniture in warm oak, walnut, or painted vintage finishes to harmonize with the branch work and soft cream background.
• Introduce textured upholstery and window treatments in natural tones like ivory, soft linen, or muted olive green to echo the foliage without competing for visual attention.
• Incorporate subtle brass or antique bronze accents in lighting and hardware to quietly pick up on the vibrant yellow markings of the birds.

Color combinations

The artwork features a harmonious palette of soft petal pink, crisp off-white, leafy sage and moss greens, slate blue, and vibrant yellow, all grounded on a calm cream-beige background. When selecting paint colors for adjacent walls or trim, creamy whites, warm off-whites, or soft muted taupes create a seamless, cohesive transition. For a slightly bolder contrast, pull out the deep slate blue or earthy olive tones from the feathers and leaves on trim, doors, or built-in cabinetry.
