Wallpaper - Deaths Head Moth Small, Grey

Our Deaths Head Moth Small, Grey wallpaper by Carrie Cantwell pairs detailed moth figures with delicate botanical elements across a soft, muted backdrop. Intricate wing patterns, fine floral accents, and gently curving leaves create an orderly, vintage-inspired repeat that feels graphic yet balanced. The contrast between the deep navy and dark grey tones against the lighter base gives the design a grounded, distinctive presence on the wall. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure according to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because of its tighter, repeating rhythm, we see this design working beautifully across an entire living room or in a quiet meditation room where a continuous decorative pattern helps create a cohesive environment. The scale of the moths and surrounding botanicals is compact enough that it reads clearly on smaller, broken-up wall sections while retaining its graphic clarity across broader, uninterrupted walls. In a living room, placing this wallpaper on the main wall behind a low sofa allows the full repeat to be seen without being crowded by tall cabinetry. Natural daylight highlights the delicate linework in the wings, while warm lamps in the evening emphasize the richness of the darker motifs.

Styling it

We like pairing this heritage-inspired design with interior elements that balance its graphic structure. Simple, unadorned furniture shapes keep the focus on the wallpaper without making the room feel overly busy.

Darker wood tones or painted black and charcoal furnishings ground the space and tie directly into the deep tones of the moths. To maintain a calm balance, we would opt for smooth, solid textiles on upholstery and window treatments rather than introducing competing patterns.

Color combinations

The wallpaper centers on deep navy and dark grey tones set against a neutral, warm grey background. When choosing surrounding colors for adjoining walls, trim, or major furniture pieces, soft off-whites, warm greys, and muted charcoals harmonize naturally with the existing palette. For a deeper, more atmospheric look, pulling the navy tone onto baseboards, window frames, or adjacent painted walls creates a tailored, enveloping feel.
