Wallpaper - Love on the Plains

Our Love on the Plains wallpaper captures an intimate, quiet moment between two wild horses touching noses against an open landscape. Presented in a soft sepia monochrome, the composition focuses on the fine detail of flowing manes, gentle expressions, and the tonal contrast between deep equine silhouettes and a softly blurred grassland backdrop. As one of our wall murals created in collaboration with Wild Apple Portfolio, this design brings an earthy, natural presence to an interior. Like all Wallism wallpapers, it is made-to-measure to fit your room dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

Because of the photographic scale and the emotional connection between the two horses, we see this mural wallpaper working best on a wide, uninterrupted accent wall. Placing it behind a bed in a master bedroom or behind a low-profile sofa in a living room gives the full width of the scene room to breathe without cutting off the central interaction. The muted sepia tone keeps the large-scale imagery visually balanced, making it equally fitting for a calm home office, a quiet reading nook, or a guest bedroom where you want an expressive focal point without overwhelming the space.

Styling it

To complement the rustic, grounded mood of the photography, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture natural and uncluttered. Warm, unvarnished woods such as oak, reclaimed pine, or walnut naturally echo the sepia hues in the image. For upholstery and textiles, look to earthy, tactile materials like relaxed linen, woven wool, or nubuck leather in neutral tones. Keeping hardware simple with matte black metal or aged bronze helps ground the room while letting the detailed equine photography remain the clear centerpiece.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is defined by a palette of sepia, warm taupe, charcoal, and soft oat tones. When painting adjacent walls or choosing larger furniture pieces, we recommend warm off-whites, creamy linen shades, and light clay neutrals that harmonize with the background prairie grasses. If you prefer deeper contrast, charcoal accents or rich espresso brown can draw out the darker values of the horses' coats and create a sophisticated, cozy environment.
