Wallpaper - Bedside

Created by artist Kate Jarvik Birch, our Bedside wallpaper brings the intimate warmth of an evening bedroom scene into your space with an expressive, painterly touch. The composition centers on an illuminated table lamp casting a glowing amber cone of light against deep teal, indigo, and shadowed walls, set beside a nightstand, a water glass, and the edge of a made bed. Rich brushstrokes and strong contrasts between warm lamplight and moody shadows give the scene an evocative, nostalgic character. Printed made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it transforms any room into a cozy, story-rich retreat.

In the room

We see this design making an exceptional statement on a feature wall in a bedroom or a cozy guest room, where its quiet nighttime narrative naturally belongs. Because the artwork functions as a large-scale figurative mural wallpaper, giving it an open, relatively uninterrupted wall allows the dramatic play of light and shadow to unfold without visual disruption. It can also bring wonderful warmth and visual intrigue to a reading nook, home library, or a private study wall behind a lounge chair, creating an immersive, contemplative atmosphere.

Styling it

To complement the rich, painterly mood of this mural wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with furniture and accents that lean into its vintage charm and intimate palette:

• Choose dark or warm wood furniture, such as walnut or deep mahogany, to echo the tones of the headboard and nightstand within the artwork.
• Introduce muted textiles in slate blue, deep teal, or warm ochre to pull directly from the surrounding wall tones in the painting.
• Keep surrounding accent pieces understated and classic, favoring vintage-inspired table lamps or brass reading fixtures that mirror the warm, focused glow depicted in the mural.

Color combinations

The artwork features an engaging contrast between warm and cool tones, built around glowing amber, burnt orange, and radiant yellow balanced by deep teal, navy, muted slate blue, and rich espresso browns. When painting adjacent walls or trim, consider soft slate, deep petrol blue, or a warm, dusky cream to harmonize with the lamplight. For upholstery and bedding, warm rust, golden ochre, or moody charcoal help draw out the design's dramatic shadows and highlights.
