Wallpaper - Leatherbound II

Our Leatherbound II wallpaper mural brings a bold, abstract composition into the room through expansive blocks of color and painterly brushwork. Designed by Haley Knighten, this design balances deep chocolate brown, warm ochre, and muted gray with striking vertical accents in cream and stark black. What we particularly appreciate is how the layered, visible brushstrokes create a sense of artistic depth without overpowering the wall. Like all Wallism wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of the broad scale and deliberate asymmetry of the color blocks, we see this wall mural working especially well on a wider, uninterrupted wall in a living room, dining room, or bedroom. Placing it behind a low-profile sofa or a streamlined bed frame lets the dramatic interplay between the upper ochre field and lower neutral ground remain fully visible. In spaces with good natural daylight, the subtle tonal variations and layered edges within the painted shapes stand out clearly, while softer evening lighting brings out the rich warmth of the brown and ochre tones.

Styling it

The large, expressive shapes in our Leatherbound II mural wallpaper pair naturally with contemporary, mid-century modern, or minimalist interiors where the wall can serve as the primary visual anchor.

• Choose low-slung furniture with clean, architectural lines, such as a low credenza or an unadorned sofa, to keep the upper half of the mural completely open.
• Introduce warm wood finishes like walnut or dark oak to echo the deep brown tones without competing with the abstract shapes.
• Keep accent textiles understated and solid in tone, opting for off-white or charcoal wool and woven fabrics to balance the broad fields of color.

Color combinations

Our design centers around a rich earth palette of warm ochre, deep espresso brown, muted stone gray, soft cream, and dense black. To complement these tones, we suggest carrying the warm stone gray or muted cream onto adjacent walls and architectural trim to maintain an open, cohesive atmosphere. If you want a moodier, more enveloping space, pairing the design with deep espresso or charcoal cabinetry and trim creates a sophisticated, cohesive contrast.
