Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Graphite

Our Grain Clad, Graphite wallpaper brings the visual character of vertical dark timber planks to your wall, defined by deep charcoal and graphite tones. The motif captures subtle organic grain swirls, knots, and soft tonal shifts between shadowy black and cool dark grey. The vertical paneling creates a steady visual rhythm across the surface, giving the design an architectural presence without feeling overly busy. Printed made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is straightforward to hang and easy to incorporate across various interior settings.

In the room

We like this design particularly in a living room, dining area, or bedroom where you want to introduce a grounded, architectural backdrop. The vertical planks create an upward visual movement that can work especially well on taller walls or behind key anchor furniture, such as a low sofa or a clean-lined bed frame. Because the contrast within the grain is gentle and tonal, it can easily handle a wide accent wall or wrap around multiple surfaces in a media room or study. In rooms with ample natural light, the subtle details in the dark wood grain reveal themselves with quiet clarity, while warm evening lighting gives the graphite surface a rich, moody depth.

Styling it

When styling around Grain Clad, Graphite, we suggest balancing the dark vertical motif with contrasting finishes and clean silhouettes. Modern and contemporary spaces feel natural here, especially when you bring in warm elements to soften the dark charcoal backdrop.

We would pair this design with light or honey-toned wood furniture to create a striking contrast against the dark background. Soft textiles in warm ivory, oatmeal, or textured grey help break up the architectural lines, while accents in matte black or brushed metal echo the moody tones of the print without competing with the grain.

Color combinations

The wallpaper is built on deep graphite, charcoal, and soft near-black hues, with subtle lighter grey highlights tracing the natural grain.

To build a balanced palette around it, we recommend pairing it with warm off-white or soft stone painted walls and trim to provide fresh, crisp contrast. For a richer, more enveloping feel, muted earth tones such as warm terracotta, muted olive, or deep caramel work beautifully on upholstery, curtains, or accent pieces.
