Wallpaper - Conoid Grain, Prussian Blue

Our Conoid Grain, Prussian Blue wallpaper brings the expressive, fluid grain of architectural wood veneer into an unexpected deep indigo and steel blue palette. We especially like how the fine vertical striations and swirling knots create an organic visual rhythm across the surface, giving the impression of stained timber paneling with a modern graphic edge. The layered tonal blues keep the pattern rich without feeling harsh, making it a distinctive choice for feature walls and wrapped rooms alike. Like all of our wallpapers, it is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

The continuous vertical flow of this design gives it a grounding, enveloping presence on a wall. In a living room or primary bedroom, we see this working exceptionally well as an accent wall behind a low sofa or headboard, where the intricate grain patterns have space to be enjoyed up close. Because the repeat relies on subtle shifts between dark navy and muted steel blue rather than jarring high-contrast lines, it also functions beautifully across all four walls of a study, home office, or hallway, creating a tailored, atmospheric cocoon.

On taller walls, the vertical lines draw the eye upward and emphasize ceiling height. In spaces with ample natural daylight, the cooler undertones of the steel blue grain emerge clearly, while softer evening lighting deepens the overall field into an intimate, inky navy.

Styling it

Because the wood grain motif is visually dynamic, we prefer pairing this wallpaper with furniture that has clean, architectural silhouettes. Mid-century modern and contemporary pieces with simple geometric forms balance the fluid movement of the print without competing with it.

To create warmth against the cool Prussian blue tones, we recommend introducing furniture in warm woods such as oiled walnut or natural oak. Matte black metal or warm brass hardware provides a sharp, deliberate accent that mirrors the refined linework of the pattern. Keeping large upholstery and drapery in solid, textural neutrals helps anchor the space and leaves the wallpaper as the focal point.

Color combinations

The motif itself is composed of deep Prussian blue, midnight navy, and softer slate-blue grain highlights.

When choosing adjacent wall colors or ceiling paints, crisp off-white and cool pale gray keep the overall atmosphere fresh and modern. If you prefer a richer, more monochromatic look, charcoal or dark slate on nearby trim and millwork will seamlessly tie into the darker linework of the wallpaper. For accent colors in decorative objects and textiles, warm cognac, mustard ochre, or burnt rust create an appealing, balanced contrast against the blue foundation.
