Wallpaper - Salmon Flies

Our Salmon Flies wallpaper presents a vintage natural-history plate featuring six intricately detailed fly-fishing lures arranged neatly in two columns. Set against a warm cream backdrop, each fly showcases delicate plumage, sharp barbed hooks, and numbering from 18 to 23, with traditional lithographic typography noting "Salmon Flies" at the top and "Made by C.F. Orvis, Manchester, Vt." at the base. Rich accents of teal, ochre, rust, deep black, and crimson bring vivid character to the fine line work. Custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it brings authentic heritage charm to any interior.

In the room

We see this design working exceptionally well as a distinctive feature wall in a study, home library, or dedicated hobby room. Because the composition is arranged as an authentic archival plate, it benefits from a wall that allows the full grid and vintage lettering to be appreciated without excessive visual clutter. In a dining room or an entryway, it serves as an intriguing conversational focal point, bringing a sense of traditional craft and sporting heritage into the home.

Styling it

To complement the historic, illustrative character of this wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with rich, warm materials:

• Deep wood tones such as walnut, antique mahogany, or dark-stained oak echo the Victorian sporting aesthetic.
• Upholstered seating in muted tweed, saddle leather, or dark green wool anchors the room while balancing the fine graphic details of the feathers.
• Aged brass or blackened iron accents on picture lights and hardware provide a grounded, classic finish that complements the cream background.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is grounded in an antique parchment cream base, brought to life with jewel-toned teal, warm ochre, burnt orange, black, and subtle crimson. To create a cohesive palette around it, we recommend drawing out the darker tones with paint colours like deep forest green, rich navy, or charcoal on surrounding trim and joinery. If you prefer a lighter, more understated scheme, match adjoining walls to soft warm off-white or subtle linen tones to let the intricate colourwork of the flies stand out.
