Wallpaper - Summer Hydrangeas

Our Summer Hydrangeas wallpaper, designed by Kristy Rice, brings an expressive burst of botanical colour to the wall. The design features loosely painted hydrangeas in rich pink, watermelon, and warm orange tones, balanced by lush green foliage with visible brushstroke details. Soft yellow highlights and delicate gold speckles scatter across the clean white background, giving the composition an airy, painterly character. As with all Wallism wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and is entirely PVC-free, printed on paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

We love how the energetic, open composition of this mural wallpaper works across a main feature wall. In a bedroom, placing it behind the headboard creates a bright, focal backdrop that sets a cheerful, artistic mood without overwhelming the surrounding space. It works equally well in a living room on a generous, uninterrupted wall where the full floral repeat and loose watercolor textures have plenty of breathing room. For smaller spaces such as a hallway or a dedicated reading corner, the crisp white ground helps keep the room feeling open while the warm floral clusters provide an immediate focal point.

Styling it

Because the floral motif carries plenty of visual energy and movement, we suggest keeping larger surrounding furniture relatively simple in form. Contemporary pieces with clean silhouettes or relaxed bohemian accents pair naturally with the expressive watercolor style. Lighter wood tones, such as pale ash, natural birch, or whitewashed oak, complement the freshness of the white backdrop and leafy greens. When introducing textiles, smooth woven fabrics in off-white, light cream, or muted olive provide a calm counterpoint to the vibrant pink and orange blooms.

Colour combinations

The design centres on bright watermelon pinks, soft corals, and warm oranges, supported by leafy green tones, pale yellow accents, and subtle gold splatters on a white base. To create a cohesive look around the wallpaper, we recommend echoing these shades through adjacent painted surfaces and accessories:

• Soft off-white or warm chalky paint on adjacent walls keeps the room light while letting the mural stand out.
• Sage green or muted olive accents on cushions, throws, or painted woodwork pick up the foliage in the motif.
• Muted blush or warm peach accents subtly draw out the pink and orange flower petals.
