Wallpaper - Your Orbit

Our Your Orbit wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, centers on an expressive, hand-painted look depicting a luminous full moon cupped gently in an outstretched hand. Set against a deep, painterly navy blue backdrop with swirling brushstroke texture, the glowing sphere blends soft lunar greys, creamy whites, and muted blue mottling, while the hand introduces rich terracotta, warm umber, and rose highlights. This evocative mural wallpaper creates a strong visual anchor with its large-scale, centered composition, making it a striking choice for a feature wall. Like all our wallpapers, it is made-to-measure and PVC-free, with a subtle physical structure in the paper.

In the room

Because of its bold, singular focal point, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall where the hand and glowing moon can be appreciated in full. In a bedroom, placing the design directly behind the headboard or on the wall facing the bed gives the space an atmospheric, intimate character. It also brings an artistic mood to a living room or a dedicated study, especially when positioned across a wall that receives soft, indirect daylight or warm accent lighting in the evening to enhance the visual glow of the moon.

Styling it

To let the expressive artwork remain the focus of the room, we suggest balancing it with understated furniture and clean silhouettes. Low-profile seating or a simple bed frame keeps the central motif unobstructed. Natural, dark or warm wood finishes like walnut complement the rich earthy tones painted into the hand, while brass or warm metal lighting fixtures echo the subtle golden undertones within the moon's glow. Keeping nearby textiles solid and textural rather than patterned prevents visual competition.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper pairs a deep indigo and midnight navy background with the creamy off-white and soft grey tones of the moon, balanced by the reddish-brown, terracotta, and warm rose shades of the hand. For adjoining walls and woodwork, we recommend pulling out the deeper midnight navy for a dramatic, enveloping look, or opting for a soft warm grey or creamy chalk white to mirror the lighter tones within the lunar surface. Subtle accents in muted rust or terracotta in upholstery and cushions help draw out the warm brushwork.
