Wallpaper - Queens New York Skyline Blue & Bronze

Created by Michel Tompsett, this architectural design captures the Queens skyline across an expressive horizontal composition. Crisp architectural silhouettes of landmark towers and bridges are filled with energetic watercolour textures, blending rich petrol blue, deep navy, and shimmering bronze-gold tones. Paint splatters and pigment bleeds anchor the base of the cityscape against an open, clean white sky, balancing graphic precision with fluid, painterly character. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the skyline runs horizontally with generous white space above, we think this design works particularly well on wider, uninterrupted walls where the full span of the cityscape can breathe. In a living room, placing the design behind a low sofa keeps the detailed base visible while letting the tall architectural forms rise upward naturally. It is equally effective in a home office or study behind a desk, where the bold blue and bronze watercolour bleeding provides an inspiring visual backdrop without overwhelming the entire space. The lighter upper half ensures the room retains an airy, open feel even with strong, concentrated colour lower down.

Styling it

The combination of graphic city lines and fluid paint splatters naturally complements contemporary and eclectic interior styles. We suggest pairing this wallpaper with modern furniture that features clean, simple profiles so the architecture of the pattern remains the focal point. To echo the metallic warmth within the cityscape, accents in antique brass, warm bronze, or black powder-coated steel integrate effortlessly around the room. Sleek timber furniture in mid-toned or dark finishes also grounds the space effectively, allowing the dynamic interplay of navy and ochre tones to command attention.

Colour combinations

The motif is anchored by deep navy, indigo, teal blue, and warm bronze-gold, set against a crisp white backdrop. To build a cohesive room scheme around our wallpaper, consider introducing surrounding wall colours or woodwork in soft off-white, light warm grey, or muted taupe to mirror the bright upper background. For larger furniture, upholstered pieces in midnight blue or charcoal provide depth, while soft furnishings in ochre, mustard, or caramel pick up on the glowing bronze highlights in the skyline.
