Wallpaper - Chicago Skyline V

Our Chicago Skyline V wallpaper captures the dynamic meeting of architectural eras in a dramatic sepia palette. In this photographic design by Nathan Larson, ornate stone columns, carved masonry and historic turrets frame a striking view of towering modern skyscrapers rising into a cloud-streaked sky. We especially like the contrast between the intricate classical masonry in the foreground and the clean, vertical grid of the high-rise windows behind it. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wall mural with a subtle paper structure, this design brings depth and graphic architectural character to your interior.

In the room

Because of its grand photographic perspective and strong vertical lines, we see this wall mural working particularly well across a wider, uninterrupted wall. In a living room, placing it behind a low sofa allows the full verticality of the skyscrapers and the framing detail of the stonework to remain completely visible. The sepia and smoky grey tones also make it a natural focal point in a dedicated home study or a quiet library room, where the architectural motif adds a scholarly, considered mood.

For spaces with standard or higher ceilings, the upward perspective of the high-rises draws the eye vertically, creating an expansive urban vista. If you are styling a long room or a hallway with minimal clutter, this wallpaper can act as an anchor wall that introduces architectural rhythm without overwhelming the surrounding space.

Styling it

We would pair this architectural mural with interiors that lean towards contemporary, industrial, or mid-century design. The sharp geometric lines of the modern buildings balance naturally with dark metal accents, such as blackened steel shelving or slim floor lamps, which echo the window grid structure.

To complement the rich sepia and stone hues, we recommend introducing furniture in warm wood tones or painted dark cabinetry. Keeping surrounding soft furnishings relatively simple in texture and tone ensures the intricate stonework and detailed skyscraper facade remain the clear focal point of the room.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is built around deep sepia, smoky grey, charcoal, and softer stone tones, balanced by the pale hues of the cloudy sky. These warm darks and muted mid-tones offer versatile pairing options for adjacent surfaces.

For surrounding walls, we suggest matching the softer tones in the sky with warm stone greys, muted chalk whites, or soft pebble shades. If you prefer a richer, more enveloping scheme in a study or library, deep charcoal, dark bronze, or slate grey on adjacent trim and joinery will beautifully pick up the deepest shadows in the building facade.
