Wallpaper - Mojave Mountains and Moon

Designed by Ryan Fowler, our Mojave Mountains and Moon wallpaper presents a tranquil desert landscape built from layered, sweeping mountain silhouettes beneath a glowing circular moon. The composition balances rolling horizontal ridges in warm caramel, rich terracotta, and deep charcoal in the foreground against soft sand and muted cream horizons. Subtle visual texture across the hills and sky gives the artwork an organic, minimalist character with a warm, modern sensibility. Like all of our made-to-measure mural wallpapers, this design is printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, offering a distinctive focal point for your interior.

In the room

Because of the sweeping horizontal layers and the placement of the rising moon, we see this wall mural working particularly well on a wide, uninterrupted wall where the full breadth of the landscape can unfold. In a bedroom, it naturally anchors the space behind a low headboard, creating a quiet backdrop that feels open rather than enclosed.

In a living room or meditation area, the rhythmic layering of the ridge lines draws the eye across the room, lending a sense of gentle horizon. We suggest keeping larger, tall storage units along adjacent walls so the graphic interplay between the moon, the lighter upper peaks, and the dark foreground hills remains clearly visible from across the room.

Styling it

The clean, flowing lines and desert-inspired palette pair naturally with organic modern and mid-century modern furniture. We would keep the surrounding decor relatively low-profile to complement the panoramic layout of the motif:

• Choose low-slung furniture in warm woods such as teak, walnut, or caramel-toned oak to echo the earthy foreground hills without competing with the landscape.
• Introduce tactile textiles in unbleached cotton, woven jute, or heavy linen to balance the smooth, graphic contours of the mountain shapes.
• Incorporate matte ceramic accents or blackened metal light fixtures that reflect the deep tones of the lowest mountain ridge.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper combines a layered spectrum of earthy tones, moving from deep dark charcoal and warm terracotta at the base through caramel, tan, and faded sand up to a soft, warm cream sky.

When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and large furnishings, we suggest pulling directly from these earthy neutrals. A pale sand or warm off-white on adjoining walls keeps the room light and allows the mural to provide depth. If you want a moodier, enveloping feel, colour-matching adjacent walls or trim to a deep warm caramel or muted terracotta creates a grounded, cohesive scheme.
