Wallpaper - Flutter

Created in collaboration with designer Deborah Revell, our Flutter wallpaper presents an intimate photographic macro study of an open vintage book. The design focuses on the graceful curvature of turning paper pages, capturing the warmth of aged cream and golden amber tones alongside the tactile texture of a clothbound spine and soft, muted background blur. With its gentle visual lines and quiet composition, this mural wallpaper adds a thoughtful, sculptural quality to a room. Like all Wallism wallpapers, it is made-to-measure to your dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure.

In the room

We see Flutter working particularly well in spaces dedicated to reading, study, or quiet contemplation, such as a home library, study, or home office. The flowing curves of the arched pages introduce an architectural softness that balances straight lines and shelving. On a feature wall behind a desk or beside a reading nook, the large-scale photographic perspective creates visual depth without overwhelming the space. In a bedroom or living room, giving the design an uninterrupted wall allows the sweeping arc of the paper to become an artistic focal point.

Styling it

Because of the photographic depth and warm, vintage paper tones in this design, we would pair it with furniture that shares a classic or mid-century sensibility. Darker wood finishes, such as walnut or rich teak, complement the amber and ochre notes in the book binding. To keep the atmosphere calm, select upholstered seating in soft bouclé or natural linen, letting the wallpaper supply the main narrative and visual interest on the wall. Simple, warm lighting or a reading floor lamp with subtle brass or muted metal accents will further highlight the design's golden undertones.

Colour combinations

The palette of our Flutter wallpaper centres on warm cream, soft parchment ivory, and deep golden amber from the book cloth, offset by cool, misty neutral tones in the soft-focus background. When planning surrounding wall colours or woodwork, we recommend echoing these muted parchment tones or reaching for warm neutrals and gentle taupes. For a deeper, more atmospheric contrast on adjacent trims or joinery, rich tobacco browns, warm ochres, or muted slate greys provide a handsome frame for the mural.
