Wallpaper - Autumn Grass Dark Green

Created by Avery Tillmon, our Autumn Grass Dark Green wallpaper brings an expressive, watercolour-like landscape of wild grasses into the interior. Tall, delicate blades in layered fern and earthy green tones rise upward against a soft, pale backdrop, accented with subtle splatters and watery washes of ochre and muted blue-green. The painterly character and open vertical rhythm give the motif a tranquil, airy feel that works beautifully on a feature wall or across a quiet room. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design is simple to hang and tailored to your space.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in a bedroom or a dedicated meditation space where the vertical flow of the grass blades can anchor the room without overwhelming it. Placed behind a bed headboard, the upward painterly strokes draw the eye subtly toward the ceiling, creating an open and serene visual atmosphere. Because the composition has plenty of breathing room between the stalks, it suits both compact spaces and larger walls with generous daylight, where the delicate watercolour bleeding and translucent green layers become clearly visible. It also makes a distinctive backdrop for a residential bathroom away from direct splashes, adding an organic, landscape-inspired presence.

Styling it

To complement the light, botanical aesthetic of our wall murals, we suggest pairing this design with contemporary Scandinavian or modern minimalist furnishings:

• Choose low-profile furniture in pale woods such as ash or bleached birch to keep the room visually light and grounded.
• Introduce tactile accents like linen throws, washed cotton bedding, or unglazed ceramics in muted, natural hues to echo the soft, organic brushwork.
• Keep wall decor minimal on adjacent surfaces so the detailed vertical strokes of the grass remain the primary visual focus.

Colour combinations

The design centres on rich fern green, mossy tones, and gentle earthy accents, layered over a soft, off-white background with hints of ochre and water-diluted slate. When painting adjoining walls or woodwork, soft warm whites, muted pale greige, or desaturated sage tones create a seamless visual transition. For a slightly bolder contrast in larger furniture or cabinetry, deep forest green or a warm olive will draw out the darker, saturated blades in the foreground.
