Wallpaper - Simple Check

Created by Julia Dreams, our Simple Check wallpaper brings an orderly, minimalist grid structure to the wall. The design features a clean, continuous square tile layout rendered in soft alabaster white with subtle light grey grout lines. Its understated geometric rhythm gives walls a quiet, architectural backdrop without overwhelming surrounding furniture. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and is completely PVC-free, with a subtle physical structure in the paper.

In the room

The neat, uniform repeat of Simple Check works particularly well in spaces where you want clean lines and visual order. We especially like this design in a modern kitchen or bathroom, where the visual character of square ceramic grid tiles creates a fresh, balanced atmosphere. Because the contrast between the white squares and the pale grey lines is gentle, the pattern can easily cover multiple adjacent walls without feeling visually busy. It also serves nicely on a single accent wall in a kitchen dining nook or behind open shelving, giving smaller items a structured background to sit against.

Styling it

Because this design is graphic yet monochromatic, we would lean into contemporary or Scandinavian interior styling. Pair it with sleek, flat-front cabinetry or painted furniture in solid neutrals to echo its clean-lined geometry. Introducing natural textures like light wood or matte black metal hardware creates a crisp visual contrast against the pale grid. Keeping worktops and decorative objects relatively clutter-free allows the architectural rhythm of the wallpaper to frame the space clearly.

Colour combinations

The pattern itself relies on a simple palette of alabaster white and pale grey lines. To build a cohesive room around it, we suggest continuing with crisp whites, warm off-whites, or soft greys on neighbouring painted walls and woodwork. If you prefer to introduce more depth, deeper tones such as charcoal, slate, or muted forest green on cabinetry or surrounding trim provide a sharp, modern counterpoint to the bright wall mural.
