Wallpaper - Espresso Morning

Created in collaboration with artist Kate Jarvik Birch, our Espresso Morning wallpaper brings a lively, painted still life to the wall. The design centres on a bright turquoise espresso cup and matching saucer, complete with a resting silver spoon and rich, dark coffee seen from above. Bold gouache-like brushstrokes, distinct white highlights, and deep cobalt shadows give the motif an expressive, artistic character against a soft, pale cream backdrop. It is a graphic and charming statement piece that works wonderfully as an accent wall in social spaces. Like all our wall murals, it is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions on PVC-free wallpaper paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

We love how this mural wallpaper introduces energy and character to dining areas, kitchens, and breakfast nooks. Because the motif is structured as a bold, painterly still life, it works best on a dedicated accent wall where the composition can be enjoyed without too much tall furniture cutting across it. Placing it along an open kitchen wall or beside a small dining table creates an inviting, café-inspired atmosphere. In a compact dining space or an open-plan kitchen and dining area, the bright turquoise tones provide a focal point while keeping the room feeling light and open.

Styling it

To let the painted motif take centre stage, we suggest pairing the wallpaper with simple, understated furniture. Mid-century dining chairs, clean wooden tables, or painted bistro furniture in off-white or charcoal complement the illustrative style without competing with it.

Keeping surrounding tableware and accessories relatively minimal allows the vivid blue and coffee tones in the artwork to stand out. Polished chrome or brushed stainless steel accents, such as kitchen hardware or lighting, tie in naturally with the silver spoon featured in the illustration.

Colour combinations

The design is built around vivid turquoise and deep blue tones, balanced by rich espresso brown and a gentle, off-white background. For adjacent painted walls, soft cream, warm ivory, or a muted sandy tone create a harmonious transition that lets the turquoise cup pop. If you prefer a bolder contrast, deep navy or slate blue on nearby cabinetry or woodwork brings out the dark blue shadow details in the artwork. Natural timber finishes and warm terracotta accents also sit comfortably alongside the coffee and teal palette.
