Wallpaper - Wishful Kitten II

Created by Yvette St. Amant, our Wishful Kitten II wallpaper brings a whimsical, painterly still life to the wall. The design centres on a curious white cat peering over a round table laden with a delightful feast, including tinned sardines, caviar, a whole garnished fish, crusty bread, and a striped vase of fresh daisies. Set against a soft blue polka-dot background and an olive green tablecloth, the naive, illustrative brushwork gives the scene a lively and playful character. Like all our wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper.

In the room

We see this design bringing charm to spaces where people gather around food, such as a dining room, kitchen dining nook, or breakfast area. The detailed, storytelling nature of the mural makes it an engaging focal point on an accent wall behind a dining table or alongside open shelving. In an open-plan kitchen and dining area, placing this wallpaper on a dedicated feature wall anchors the eating zone with colour and personality. It also works wonderfully in a creative hallway, utility room, or cloakroom, where the humorous motif adds an unexpected touch of warmth.

Styling it

To let the illustrative character of the design stand out, we would pair it with straightforward furniture shapes in natural wood tones. A simple pine, beech, or light oak dining table complements the relaxed, kitchen-table feel of the artwork without competing with its details.

For accents, we suggest pulling directly from the painterly details in the scene. Simple woven chair seats, clean white ceramic tableware, or crisp red-and-white checked linen napkins echo the Mediterranean-inspired table setting. Keeping larger storage pieces and painted trim relatively understated helps the mural wallpaper remain the clear centrepiece of the room.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper features a balanced mix of soft sky blue, mossy olive green, warm white, and bright tomato red, alongside subtle accents of lemon yellow and soft grey.

When choosing surrounding wall paints or cabinetry colours, a muted warm white or soft plaster tone provides a clean, airy backdrop that lets the blues and greens pop. If you prefer deeper contrast, an earthy olive or sage green on adjacent walls or kitchen cabinets beautifully extends the tones of the tablecloth. For a crisper look, pulling the bright tomato red into smaller decorative items or painted chair frames introduces a joyful spark.
