Wallpaper - Damascus Syria Skyline Black & White

Designed by Michael Tompsett, our Damascus Syria Skyline Black & White wallpaper presents a striking silhouette of the historic city set against a clean white backdrop. We particularly like how the architectural profile blends recognisable domes, minarets, and modern structures with dynamic ink splatters and paint drips across the lower edge. The charcoal and black tones carry a textured, spray-painted visual character that creates a bold graphic statement. Printed to order as a made-to-measure mural, this PVC-free wallpaper is straightforward to hang and brings a thoughtful artistic atmosphere to any wall.

In the room

Because of its panoramic composition, we see this wall mural working especially well on an uninterrupted feature wall where the entire skyline has space to unfold. In a home office or a dedicated study, placing the design behind a desk creates a cultured, focused focal point without overwhelming the workspace. The strong contrast between the black cityscape and the white sky gives the room a crisp, architectural structure.

The horizontal balance of the artwork also suits larger wall areas above low furniture, such as behind a sofa or credenza. With generous natural daylight, the fine spray-paint details and energetic paint splatters along the lower half of the design stand out with great clarity.

Styling it

The graphic quality of this monochrome design pairs naturally with contemporary, minimalist, or modern industrial interiors. We would balance the bold black-and-white contrast by introducing warm wood tones or subtle textural depth in the surrounding room.

• Pair with warm wood or matte black metal furniture to echo the clean lines of the architectural silhouette.
• Keep surrounding upholstery and textiles relatively neutral to let the detailed skyline remain the primary visual feature.
• Incorporate subtle greenery or focused task lighting to soften the monochrome palette and highlight the lower paint-splatter texture.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper itself centres on deep black and charcoal grey against an open white background. When planning the rest of the room, crisp white, soft off-white, or light warm greys on adjacent walls help integrate the white negative space naturally. If you want a more moody look, a deep slate grey or charcoal on nearby walls can frame the skyline mural effectively. For subtle accent notes, muted terracotta, warm ochre, or olive green in surrounding accessories bring gentle warmth without detracting from the black-and-white theme.
