Wallpaper - Olive Cranes on Paper

Our Olive Cranes on Paper wallpaper by Yumeee brings an expressive Chinoiserie aesthetic into the home, gathering Japanese red-crowned cranes and white egrets amidst stylised botanical foliage. Set against a deep, earthy olive green backdrop with a visual paper-like texture, the composition grounds the illustrated birds along the lower half of the wall while leaving the upper section beautifully open. Crisp red crowns and delicate leaf veining provide vivid focal points against the soft plumage and palm fronds. Made-to-measure and entirely PVC-free, our wallpaper paper has a subtle physical structure that enhances its painted artistic character.

In the room

Because the detailed bird and foliage motif rises from the bottom of the design, we see this working exceptionally well in a bedroom or living room where furniture sits along the wall. Placed behind a headboard or a low-profile sofa, the lower botanical landscape peeks through naturally, while the open olive upper half allows the room to retain a balanced, uncluttered sense of height.

In a dedicated home art studio or study, this design acts as an inspiring accent wall. The horizontal rhythm of the birds provides continuous movement across a wider, uninterrupted wall, giving the entire space a tranquil, considered atmosphere.

Styling it

To complement the rich heritage feel of this design, we would pair it with furniture that balances its decorative detail:

• Low-slung seating and mid-toned or dark timber furniture anchor the lower part of the wall without competing with the illustrated plumage.
• Soft linen or bouclé upholstery in off-white, oat, or muted stone echoes the feathers of the cranes and introduces gentle textural warmth.
• Subtle antique brass or brushed bronze lighting fixtures pick up on the warm ochre tones in the beaks and legs.

Colour combinations

The backdrop of our wallpaper is a rich, warm olive green, balanced by the bright white and charcoal grey of the cranes, muted sage and teal in the leaves, and sharp crimson red accents.

When choosing paint for surrounding walls, woodwork, or adjacent cabinetry, we recommend soft, chalky off-whites or muted warm greys that draw directly from the egret plumage. If you want a more enveloping, heritage look, a deep moss or olive green that matches the wallpaper background creates a seamless transition across adjacent surfaces. Small decorative touches in terracotta, rust, or deep coral will naturally pick up on the crimson details within the motif.
