Wallpaper - Elephant Walk I

Created by Daphne Brissonnet, our Elephant Walk I wallpaper features a pair of decoratively adorned elephants against a warm, patterned background. The larger elephant and calf are dressed in colourful ceremonial headdresses, decorative saddle blankets, and ankle bands, rendered with a painted, watercolour-like appearance. Rich teal, terracotta, and soft grey tones are framed by ornate decorative borders along the top and bottom, while subtle damask-like motifs and botanical flourishes fill the surrounding cream field. Like all of our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of the horizontal narrative and distinct framing bands, we see this working particularly well as an accent wall in a nursery, toddler room, or children's bedroom. Placing the mural wallpaper behind a cot, a low bed, or along a play area gives the central elephant figures an inviting presence without overwhelming the room.

The composition benefits from an uninterrupted wall where both elephants can be seen together in full. Because the decorative borders define the upper and lower edges of the scene, keeping low shelving or floor cushions along the skirting board allows the main illustration to stay clear and visible.

The palette centres around soft elephant grey, warm cream, rich teal, and earthy terracotta, alongside subtle touches of gold and saffron.
