Wallpaper - Warm Western BW

Captured by Nathan Larson, this black and white photographic wallpaper brings an intimate, tender moment into focus as a foal rests its head against an adult horse. The close composition highlights the tactile visual detail of soft coats, flowing manes, and the gentle curve of the neck against a quiet, pale backdrop. Produced as a made-to-measure wall mural on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, this expressive design brings a grounded, natural focal point to interior walls.

In the room

Because of the photographic scale and close framing, we see this wall mural working particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall where the composition has space to breathe. In a living room, positioning the mural behind a low-backed sofa allows the expressive details of the horse and foal to remain completely in view. It also makes a serene backdrop in a bedroom or quiet study, where the monochrome tonal range introduces depth without overwhelming the surrounding space.

Styling it

The strong black and white contrast pairs naturally with contemporary and rustic interiors alike. We recommend keeping adjacent elements relatively understated so the photographic mural remains the anchor of the space. Consider combining it with:

• Low-profile furniture in natural finishes such as warm timber or dark painted wood to echo the deeper tones in the coat.
• Tactile upholstery in unbleached wool, slubbed fabrics, or charcoal weaves that complement the soft visual texture of the mane.
• Matte black metal lighting or hardware that sharpens the monochrome lines across the room.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design consists of deep charcoals, rich blacks, soft mid-greys, and pale off-white tones. When painting neighbouring walls or selecting major finishes, soft off-whites, chalky stone tones, and warm pebble greys create a seamless, balanced transition. If you prefer a richer contrast, deep charcoal or near-black paint on surrounding architectural trim or adjoining walls frames the mural with quiet confidence.
