Wallpaper - Western Rider

Our Western Rider wallpaper brings a close, photographic perspective of equestrian life to the wall. The composition captures the rich chestnut coat of a horse, a black riding boot resting in the stirrup, and subtle details like the saddle pad and girth against a softly blurred, warm ground. We particularly like the tactile depth in this design, from the sheen of the leather to the fine texture of the horse's coat. Created from imagery by Wild Apple Portfolio, this mural is made to measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it an expressive choice for bringing warmth and equestrian character into a room.

In the room

Because of its close crop and cinematic scale, this design works especially well as a feature wall in a study, home office, or living room. We see it anchoring a wider wall behind a desk or a low-profile sofa, where the horizontal flow of the horse's body and the warm chestnut tones can stretch out across the room without feeling crowded. In a hallway or entryway, the rich focal point creates an immediate sense of atmosphere as you step into the home.

The warm, earthy palette responds well to soft, warm interior lighting. In daylight, the subtle tonal gradations between the chestnut hair, black leather, and sandy background remain clear and distinct, while lower evening light enhances the cosy, intimate depth of the photograph.

Styling it

We would keep the surrounding furniture relatively grounded to balance the photographic presence of the design. Deep leather seating, dark painted joinery, or warm wood furniture in tones like walnut or smoked oak complement the rich brown and black elements in the image.

To let the mural wallpaper remain the clear focus, pair it with simple, textured fabrics rather than competing prints. Woven wool throws, heavy linen curtains, and muted brass or matte black hardware echo the equestrian materials without overloading the space.

Colour combinations

The dominant tones in our wallpaper are rich chestnut brown, deep black, and a muted, warm sandy beige in the background, with a soft hint of pale duck egg blue at the saddle edge.

For adjacent walls and woodwork, we suggest drawing out the warm neutrals with soft sand, warm taupe, or deep charcoal for a moodier scheme. If you prefer subtle contrast, muted olive green or an understated off-white on neighbouring surfaces will frame the rich browns of the motif naturally.
