Wallpaper - Moonlit Garden II

Our Moonlit Garden II wallpaper by Katie Pertiet centers around a finely detailed butterfly motif, framed by delicate botanical sketches, vintage typographic elements, and soft watercolor-like washes. The pale blue and charcoal tones of the butterfly provide a crisp focal point against the warm cream, parchment, and soft beige background. Subtle splatters, ornate framing details, and muted botanical foliage give the composition the character of a curated naturalist's journal page. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wallpaper with a subtle structure in the paper, it brings a calm, vintage-inspired elegance to any interior.

In the room

Because the design features a central, framed specimen layout surrounded by breathing room, we see this working exceptionally well as a focal point on an accent wall. In a bedroom behind a headboard or in a quiet study, giving the wallpaper an uninterrupted wall allows the intricate details of the calligraphy, postage-style markings, and butterfly wings to remain fully appreciated.

The soft, warm parchment tones make the design adaptable across both bright spaces and rooms with subdued lighting. Under warm ambient light, the creamy undertones glow softly, while natural daylight brings out the subtle pale blue hues in the butterfly wings and the muted greens of the surrounding leaves.

Styling it

We suggest pairing this wallpaper with furniture and decorative pieces that echo its vintage, collected character. Lighter woods or antique painted finishes in off-white or soft grey sit naturally against the parchment backdrop. To keep the visual weight balanced, choose pieces with refined profiles rather than heavy, blocky silhouettes.

Soft linen textiles and understated ceramic accents complement the organic, illustrative quality of the print without competing for attention. Keeping nearby artwork minimal lets the wallpaper serve as the primary visual story in the room.

Colour combinations

The design itself features soft cream, aged parchment, muted greens, and charcoal, anchored by the delicate pale blue of the butterfly wings.

To create a cohesive interior, we recommend drawing from the soft background tones for adjacent walls, using warm off-whites, soft oatmeal, or pale linen shades. If you prefer a bolder contrast, deeper charcoal or muted slate grey on surrounding woodwork, doors, or shelving will pick up the dark wing outlines and create a tailored, classic feel. Soft sage or muted moss green also complements the delicate botanical details nicely.
