Wallpaper - Geography of the Heavens III

Our Geography of the Heavens III wallpaper features a 19th-century astronomical diagram illustrating a solar eclipse, created by Wild Apple Portfolio. The design captures the vintage look of an antique textbook engraving, complete with detailed line work, classic typography reading "ECLIPSES OF THE SUN", and an aged, cream-toned paper background with subtle foxing. We love the graphic clarity of the celestial bodies, with Earth, the Moon, and the radiating Sun creating a bold horizontal composition. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure, PVC-free, and printed on paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

This design works especially well as an accent wall in a home study, library, or dedicated reading nook where its historic, scientific character can take centre stage. Because the motif relies on horizontal alignment and clean diagrammatic linework, we recommend placing it on a relatively wide, uninterrupted wall where the full composition between the Earth and the Sun remains visible. In a smaller home office, setting this behind a desk creates an engaging, scholarly backdrop without overwhelming the space with excessive colour.

Styling it

To complement the archival character of our mural wallpapers, we would pair this design with classic heritage or vintage-inspired interiors. Darker wood furniture, such as an antique writing desk or dark stained shelving, echoes the traditional engraving aesthetic beautifully. Simple lighting in aged brass or antique bronze works naturally alongside the warm, sepia-toned linework. We suggest keeping surrounding accessories understated to let the graphic line art and astronomical details stand out.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on warm cream, aged parchment tones, and deep charcoal-black linework. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, warm off-whites, antique creams, or soft stony neutrals create a calm continuation of the aged paper background. If you prefer more contrast around the mural, deep charcoal, rich espresso tones, or muted slate grey pick up on the dark engraved lines and anchor the room.
